Bemerkung: Peter Sheppard Skaerved (2026), Nigel Clarke’s ‘Brueg[h]el’s Brush’ – a personal view: "Brueg[h]el’s Brush consists of two books of miniatures for solo violin and viola. These respond to 25 works by the Bruegel family in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, Belgium, in Brussels. The 11 movements comprising ‘Book One’ replicate the sequence of paintings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder and his son Pieter Brueghel the Younger (1564-1638) hanging in the most celebrated room in the museum." [...] "The 14 movements making up book two, reflect the constellation of works scattered across the whole site, also including works by Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625), Jan Brueghel the Younger (1601-1678), and collaborations with Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) and Hendrick van Balen the Elder (1573-1632)."
